This tumblr is awesome. It shows actors who play teenagers, but are usually in their 20’s, alongside their actual teenage selves.

Sometimes their teenage selves look more like teenagers than they do now, like Alex Pettyfer below (17 on the left, and 22 on the right), and look like adults now:

but a lot of the time their teenage selves look like you kind of want to pat their little head, like Daniel Sharman,* up at the top there.

People ask me a lot why people who are older/younger than the age of a character get cast, and I think it’s because age on camera doesn’t read the way age in real life does — it often reads either way up or way down.
